Planatus orientalis (plane tree) is an endemic plant of Anatolia. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine, Far East countries and Iran for centuries for therapeutic purposes. Especially flavonoids, proanthocyanidin glycosides, penta-aromatic triterpenoids, tannin and phytol derivatives and caffeic acid in sycamore leaves are bioactive components that play a role in its successful use in traditional treatment.
Ibn Sina recommended sycamore leaves as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic for toothache and knee pain. In Iran, sycamore leaves are currently used as a traditional treatment for some dermatological, gastrointestinal and rheumatic complaints. Dioscorides recommended sycamore leaf in dysentery. Its anticancer power has also been demonstrated by clinical studies. Antiseptic and antimicrobial properties are very strong. In this sense, mouthwash prepared from sycamore leaves can be successfully applied in both antiseptic and aphthous complaints.
Why Planatus anatolias?
When plants or their seeds are registered or patented, it is based on phenotype and genotype characteristics. However, this is not enough. The ecological flora, biodiversity environment, allelopathic conditions, microbiological flora of the soil, especially the mineral content of the soil, climate and environmental conditions, horizontal and vertical transitions directly affect the taxon chemistry of a plant.
..
Sycamore trees growing in the regions where boron mineral deposits are found on Anatolian Soils are entitled to be named "anatolias" by separating from "orientalis" in terms of taxon chemistry in terms of containing different glycosides. The glycosides of sycamore tree leaves of the above-mentioned regions (containing boron mineral deposits) are specifically and selectively effective both as analgesic in "osteoarthritis" complaints and against general calcification developing in the body.
Caution:
It is not recommended for patients with high blood pressure to use sycamore leaves alone. It is not sufficient to use the plane leaf plant alone, which is recommended against calcification complaints. Detailed information about other auxiliary plants can be obtained from our consultants.
